When Did You Start Practicing Yoga?
I began practicing yoga in 2001. My cousin introduced me to the Bikram series while on a family vacation in Key West, Florida. An athlete in transition - I had just decided to leave behind my collegiate career – and was searching for something more holistic to replace the years and years of formal athletics. And from that very first class I fell in love. It was when on the mat that I felt truly at home. Like a voice is to a singer or a paintbrush to an artist, yoga became just that for my life…it has become my muse through which to share my genius, my passion, to the world.
What Has Yoga Done For You?
Yoga has taught me that we need look no further than inside ourselves to see our own divinity and grace and to feel the universal pulsation alive! It has taught me to breathe and to find comfort in the fact that everything is as it should be and to embrace my life just as it is, to step into the current and trust the ride.
What Do You Want To Teach?
I teach so that together (alongside my students) we can explore on the mat both the beauty and the complexity of this beautiful gift called Life!
What Is Your Favorite Part Of Teaching?
The students, the creativity, the embracing the unknown, the lives touched or changed from the practice!
Favorite Quote
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that
we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that frightens us. Yet we were born to make manifest the glory of the divine light that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
Other Activities
Spending as much time as she can with family and friends, being outdoors during all four seasons, photography, traveling, good wine, homemade bread, music, reading, and doing as many handstands as I can!
Future Goals
To become an Anusara Certified teacher!
More Information
I am so grateful for having been given this opportunity to share something that I love so deeply with the world. Every day since I first began teaching has been a blessing and I will never forget that.

To all of my teachers…
It is to all of you I bow and give thanks. It is because of your teachings I have found my strength to let my wings unfurl and dive fully into being who I was meant to be. Thank you for your courage to take the steps first and to illumine the path that has shown me the way home – to my heart!

To all of my students…
Desikachar said, “We begin where we are and how we are, and whatever happens, happens.” Thus is the path of yoga. To all of you amazing students on this crazy journey called yoga, may it be for you exactly what it is suppose to be. Open to it. Enjoy it. Revel in its sweetness. Trust it. Never let it go. Know once you step two feet in you will never be the same!
