When Did You Start Practicing Yoga?
Spring of 2004
What Has Yoga Done For You?
When I first started practicing yoga, my sister (Amie) convinced to me try a class with her. I hated it, but it was the weekly detoxification my body needed. I continued to practice off and on from that time. Then in 2008, during a time in my life when everything seemed to be completely wrong, I was able to find complete peace and ease on my yoga mat. At that point, yoga became a daily practice. I was able to draw forth what was already within me and find a relationship with myself. Through my yogic journey, I have found energy, balance, love, motivation, and wisdom to take the peace and ease I find on my mat with me everywhere life takes me.
What Has QiCycle-yoga Done For You?
Spin/yoga has challenged and strengthened my physical and mental endurance. I have learned when my mind quits, my body will follow. But by coming back to my yoga principles, I can find it within to push harder and finish strong.
What Do You Want To Teach?
It’s up to me to share what has so freely been given to me. Teaching my chance to share what so many teachers have shared with me.
What Is Your Favorite Part Of Teaching?
My favorite part about teaching is the opportunities it brings to be present during the life changing experience yoga may bring to others.
Favorite Quote
“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” – Lao-Tzu
Other Activities
I love cooking family-style dinners, I read lots of non-fiction (including entertainment magazines), I spend lots of time with my friends, I love to travel, I’m always bailing my maltese Petey out of trouble, and I always have fun and find joy in all I do!
Future Goals
I would someday love to open a treatment/wellness facility for just girls and women dedicated to helping overcome addiction, heal themselves, and transition to a healthy lifestyle.
