Qi was recently highlighted in the Denver Post!

"We recently sampled some rides at Qi Kinesis Athletic Club in Denver.

The Redwood Dash was a nice and pleasant ride through a sunny forest, while the Savage Revenge was a leg-burning, sweat-inducing, lung- pumping ride through snowy mountains. Providing relief on this 20-mile tour was the air conditioner placed in front of the bike and the sweet voice of Beyonce playing in the earphones...

WHAT IT'S LIKE — Instead of staring into a mirror or blank wall for motivation, you follow the action on a colorful screen. Journeys through a seaside beach, snow-filled mountains or space keep you occupied. After completing a mile, you get a blue ribbon congratulating you and giving you that spark to keep pedaling.

The competitive side comes out when you start to notice the other bike riders gliding past you. Coming in last isn't an option.

During the ride, the screen tells you how many calories you have burned, the distance traveled and your heart rate, among other things. You can feel the burn in your legs when the tour you choose is full of hills and peaks that making pedaling a challenge. Time flies because your only focus is the determination of completing a tour named Gut Buster and being able to brag about it.

FUN FACTOR — Have you ever felt the need to jump on your bike and chase after a blue dragon? Well, now you can fulfill that fantasy with the Expresso Chase, the bike's video-game component. Just pick the time limit you want and start pedaling around in this interactive world. The aim of the game is to collect colored coins that will allow you to capture a dragon of the same color in order to gain points. The game itself keeps you occupied and the many hills will keep your legs aflame. Click here to read entire article.

"The softly lighted, earth-tone design — no mirrors here — encourages a focus on self. The intimate setting also derives from limited membership — the club has about 180 members and will eventually cap at 300.

The salvaged-pine floors and wall art by local artists lend a homelike feel to an environment where treadmills feature personal 17-inch plasma TVs and where sport-specific classes employ hard-to-find equipment like the Kinesis cable system. Virtual-reality bikes allow members to view one another on a video screen as they race.

But Wendell Thomas, 80, and his wife, Bunny, 79, who are dumping their membership at a chain, come here for the neighborhood feel and equipment that adjusts its resistance to the strength of the user, which has helped Thomas regain mobility after coronary-bypass surgery.

"It's close; it's friendly," says Thomas, who lives in nearby Park Hill. "It just fit." Click here to read the entire article
